Zohar is a figurative painter based in Jerusalem. Her work explores relationships - between humans, images, every day artifacts, histories, and lived experience - meaning emerges through tension and juxtaposition, reflecting her ongoing inquiry into memory, childhood, mortality, nature, social systems and agency.
Her recent works explore repression and denial- the liminal space between seeing and not seeing, confronting personal and collective trauma, environmental fragility, and the persistent possibility of hope and healing. Zohar studied extensively in London, and in NYC, before obtaining her BFA from the Bezalel Academy of Art in Jerusalem. During her time at Bezalel, much of her work was shaped by lived experience in the West Bank as part of the Ecome project, which focused on shared Palestinian and Israeli stewardship of the land.
